Established in 1965, the resort offers 125 Polynesian-style thatched-roof bungalows and is situated around lagoons and white beaches and black lava rock. The Kona Village Resort is situated on 82 oceanfront acres and built on the site of an ancient Waikoloa fishing village, with lava fields on one side and white sands on the other. A few feet from the shoreline, there is a natural spring dedicated to the Hawaiian god Kan. Guests enjoy a variety of recreational activities, such as snorkeling, diving, kayaking, deep sea fishing and natures walks along the historic grounds.
